Athens Smiles Believes That Great Smiles Are Worth It
What to Expect
Going to the dentist doesn’t have to be an awkward experience! At our office, we’re committed to answering any questions you may have prior to your appointment. Please look over the information below. If you have a question that isn’t included, feel free to contact us!
At our practice, a lot of the “latest technology” such as lasers, digital x-rays, computerized records, and dental microscopes are things we have had for about the last 10 years or longer. Over the years our patients have grown to expect us to stay ahead of the curve.
DIAGNOSTIC CARE: At the first appointment for adults 18 years old or older, all necessary low level radiation digital x-rays are taken and viewed first by the dentist. After a comprehensive examination a plan of treatment is made (and if necessary referral to a specialist is done). Doing dental work without a treatment plan is like building a house without a blueprint – you are inviting failure. After the treatment plan is made, an appointment for a cleaning or if necessary appropriate gum treatment is made.
Children are seen first by the hygienist and usually have a cleaning and polishing, plus flouride and x-rays.
INFORMATION ABOUT INSURANCE: We accept assignment of benefits from most insurance companies that allow them. For Clarke County Board of Education Direct Reimbursement, we fax your claim directly to the Board office right after you pay so they will reimburse you faster. We are in network for MetLife and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
FINANCING: We accept the following major credit cards: Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express. We also offer approved financing through Care Credit and Chase Health Advance.
